Shopify Billing
Note: If you plan on doing significantly more than 1,000 verifications per month custom pricing plans may be available depending on your needs.
Shopify handles the billing for all apps on its app store. As a result your, BlueCheck app usage will be included on your monthly Shopify invoice. The general billing systems works as such:
- At the start of your monthly subscription period the monthly fee is added to your Shopify Bililng statement and your account is credited with the included verifications.
- As the monthly period progresses, the incuded verification are used up. If you use more that the included number of verifications you will be billed the auto-recharge amount you have set. Each additional verification over the included number will be subtracted from this account balance.
- At then start of a new period the included verifications resets to the amount included in the plan, however, any remaining overage balance from the previous month carries over.
A store is using the small plan, with 25 included verifications and has set the auto-recharge amount to $25.
In the first month they do 35 verifications. The Small plan covers the cost of the first 25 verifications, however, when the 26th verification happens the store will be charged the auto-recharge amount of $25 giving them a balance of $25. Then the price of the 26th verification, $1.25 is substracted from the balance so the store balance after the processing of the 26th verification is $24.75
Since the store does 35 verifications in the month ( 10 more than are included in the Small plan), at then end of the month they are left with $25 - (10*1.25) or a balance $12.50.
In the second month, the store is charged the $25 subscription fee again. However, after the use up the included monthly verifications - since they still have a balance from last month, the store is not charged. Instead this month the overage is subtracted from the balance. If for example, the store did 35 verifications again in the second month the first 25 would be included and the remaining 10 would be subtracted from the existing $12.50 balance.
