Verification Reasons
The verification reasons provide additional insight into why a verification was either, pending, failed or approved. You can see a list of reasons below.
Reason | Description |
|---|---|
expired | The end user never completed the verification process within the 72 hour window and so the verification failed. |
prescreened | Returned if a user is pre-approved by the client and so verification is not performed. |
order_canceled | Returned in the order placed by the end user (on an ecommerce store for example) is cancelled. This will fail the verification as it is no longer necessary. |
spam_email | Only returned if automated spam detection is active. Returned if the email address is triggers spam detection causing the verification to fail. |
recognized_photos | Only returned if automated spam detection is active. Returned if the photos submitted by the end user are similar to photos used previously causing the verification to fail. |
other | Returned for edge case photo id verifications that were manually rejected for a reason other than the ones listed here. |
edited_images | The verification failed because the images uploaded by the end user were edited or manipulated. |
male | Returned when a verification fails the female only gender detection. |
matched_flagged_id_document | Returned when a verification was failed because the ID document used by the end user matched a flagged id document in our system. |
invalid_id | Returned when a verification is set to pending because the ID photo submitted by the user was unusable. Only returned when the automated ID detection is active. |
invalid_selfie_and_id | Returned when a verification is set to pending because both the ID photo and selfie photo submitted by the user were unusable. Only returned when the automated ID detection is active. |
manual_verification | Returned when a verification is successfully completed manually. |
